I met Jonathan at work. The first month or so I was there, he casually mentioned he liked painting. After viewing his work, it quickly became clear that his talent and passion for art go far beyond an after-work hobby. Between the details about his process (he achieves texture by painting with wine and setting it on fire with a blow torch) to details about his background (he has never taken a formal art class) I knew I wanted to tell his story. So we he said his work was being featured at a gallery in Deep Ellum, I jumped on the chance to do a video that could connect the audience with the artist.
